Our history
About 25 years ago, Herman and Jean Vreeman started The Green Spot as a small market garden and greenhouse operation. Eventually, the market garden gave way to greenhouse production. Their son Dick Vreeman assumed the business and undertook major expansion from 1999 to 2003. Bernie Whetter purchased The Green Spot in 2007 and maintains its reputation as a year round shopping destination in Brandon.
Our facility
The Green Spot is located on a ten acre parcel of land nestled at the east end of Rosser Avenue, beside CP Rail and the Assiniboine River. The facility encompasses 126,000 square feet of production greenhouses and 8,400 square feet of wood frame structures for the store, shop, office and storage. About 30,000 square feet of this space is used for retail sales area.
