Meet The Green Spot



Our history
A

bout 25 years ago, Herman and Jean Vreeman started The Green Spot as a small market garden and greenhouse operation. Eventually, the market garden gave way to greenhouse production. Their son Dick Vreeman assumed the business and undertook major expansion from 1999 to 2003. Bernie Whetter purchased The Green Spot in 2007 and maintains its reputation as a year round shopping destination in Brandon.

Our facility
T

he Green Spot is located on a ten acre parcel of land nestled at the east end of Rosser Avenue, beside CP Rail and the Assiniboine River. The facility encompasses 126,000 square feet of production greenhouses and 8,400 square feet of wood frame structures for the store, shop, office and storage. About 30,000 square feet of this space is used for retail sales area.

t The Green Spot Home & Garden, we know our customers need something extra special from time to time. To meet that need, we offer customized services.

  • Have planters at home, but no time to plant them? We’ll plant them for you and keep them until the plants are flourishing.
  • Need a table centre for that special event? We can arrange something perfect for the situation.
  • Need something special for a birthday, funeral or anniversary? Ask about a living basket – a nice gift that will give for years.

or a nominal fee, we’ll deliver anything we sell within the city of Brandon. Just ask!

Gift Certificates

t’s not always easy to choose the right gift. We offer gift certificates in whatever amount you need. These certificates have no expiry date, which gives the recipient plenty of time to use them.

e at the Green Spot take pride in the quality of our trees and shrubs.  If the unforeseen event that one of our products takes a turn for the worst in the first year of purchase, please bring it in for a 50% refund to be put toward a replacement.

For The Green Spot Warranty to apply, the customer must follow the recommendations in the Planting and Care instructions (on reverse). The customer must respect growth requirements, such as drainage, winter protection, adequate watering, and the climate zone.  Unfortunately, this warranty is not valid for bare root plantings, Tea and Floribunda roses, azaleas, rhododendrons and products marked TENDER.

or a product return, the customer shall remit to the merchant the dead tree or shrub, and provide the original proof of purchase of the tree or shrub. Please, no returns before mid-June. New plantings may be delayed in the year after planting.

he indemnity provided is limited to 50% of the original purchase price and is not cashable. The indemnity may be applied to a one time only replacement with the same type of tree or shrub or an equivalent purchase of a tree or shrub.

his warranty does not apply to damages caused by natural disasters or extreme weather conditions or when damages are caused by the act of a person, animal, or insect or by wrong doing, vandalism or negligence.
